Position Summary
Valley Christian School is seeking a dedicated, qualified, and Christ-centered Junior High/High School Teacher to join our faculty primarily teaching English. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to Jesus Christ, Christian education, academic excellence, and the spiritual and personal development of students.
The teacher will provide effective instruction in assigned junior high and/or high school courses while maintaining a positive, structured, and Christ-centered classroom environment. The teacher will work collaboratively with parents, colleagues, and school administration to support student learning and growth.
Essential Responsibilities
• Plan and provide engaging, age-appropriate instruction consistent with the school's curriculum and educational objectives.
• Teach assigned junior high and/or high school courses.
• Establish and maintain a classroom environment that promotes learning, respect, responsibility, and Christian character.
• Integrate biblical principles and a Christian worldview appropriately throughout instruction and classroom activities.
• Provide appropriate assessment of student learning and maintain accurate student records.
• Communicate regularly and professionally with parents regarding student progress, concerns, and accomplishments.
• Maintain classroom management and student discipline consistent with school policies.
• Provide appropriate academic support and encouragement to students with varying abilities and learning needs.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, chapel, school activities, and other assigned responsibilities.
• Maintain professional and positive relationships with students, parents, faculty, staff, and administration.
• Serve as a Christian role model for students in conduct, character, communication, and professional responsibilities.
• Fulfill all other reasonable duties assigned by school administration.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Appropriate teaching certification or licensure for the subject and grade level preferred.
• Previous classroom teaching experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of the subject area(s) to be taught.
• Excellent communication, organization, classroom-management, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, faculty, staff, and administration.
• Commitment to the mission, philosophy, and Christian educational principles of Valley Christian School.
• Demonstrated Christian character and a willingness to support and model the school's Statement of Faith and applicable employee expectations.
Montana Licensure: Candidates should hold, or be eligible to obtain, the appropriate Montana educator license/authorization for the position, when required. Montana OPI identifies Class 2 as the standard teaching license and provides provisional licensing pathways for certain applicants.
